LYDIA GREINER #32
|
|||||
| DFB: Tell me the basics. My name is Lydia Greiner. I'm sixteen years old and I am a junior at Citrus High School. DFB: Who influences you and how? My parents are major influences for me, they are always there for me and support me in everything that I do. DFB: What are some of your hobbies besides motocross? Most of my time outside of motocross goes towards my schoolwork. I'm still in public school and I am taking AP and advances classes so that takes up a lot of my time. When i'm not in school though and not riding, I love going to the beach or boating, training, riding bicycles, listening to music, and just hanging out with my friends. DFB: Who would you say is your biggest competition? I'd say everyone who I race is my biggest competition. When you're racing you can't count anyone out and you've always got to be on your toes, anything can happen out there. DFB: What do you do to train? I ride generally 3-5 times a week and in addition to that I do cardio training everyday, as well as lift weights, and go to the gym, sometimes I throw swimming in to mix it up. DFB: Who got you started in the sport of motocross? It was a combination of my Dad and Jimmy Page. I was in Karate with Jimmy's mom and my mom and at the same time as Jimmy was racing I had gotten a 1976 Honda XL-70. After a few months my old dirtbike bit the dust and we were thinking of a new one, then we went to Dade City to watch Jim race and I fell in love with the sport. A month later I had a new '03 RM 85 and started racing. DFB: Who’s your favorite pro rider and why? I would have said Ricky Carmichael a few months ago because he works harder than anyone out there and I love how determined he is. Anything he wants he gives his one-hundred percent untill it is accomplished. Now I'd most likely say my favorite rider is Tedesco, I just love his style. DFB: Do you consider yourself successful at what you do? I consider myself fairly successful because everything I do I give my all. I feel like i've accomplished a lot of my goals on and off the track, however I can always improve what I do. DFB: Do you have any future plans or goals to achieve in this sport? I need to become more agressive on the track, I think that will help me with everything I do in this sport. I just moved up to B class and i'm hoping to just get used to racing that class and getting better overall. DFB: What are your plans for the year of 2008? Our 2008 plans include transitioning into the B class and also racing as many nationals as possible. We're planning on going to both Texas races as well as Ponca, hopefully Lorettas, Branson, and maybe Vegas. DFB: Off the serious note, let's ask some random questions DFB: What’s the play list on the iPod these days? Lately I've been listening to the album Underclass Hero by Sum 41, Strung Out's Blackhawks Over Los Angeles, and 30 Seconds to Mars, but I've been getting more into rap too. I'm really into Sweatshop Union and i'm starting to like Lil' Wayne and a few others, it makes me loosen up before I ride. DFB: Who do you chill with (friends)? I hangout with Cody Heine and Daniel Story, Jacqueline Ross, John and Kayla McConnell, Nick Dionne, Dalton Yingling, Josh Talmadge, England, Casey Folmar, the Bollmann twins, Arianna Fillipone, and Kalin Hall, Danny Mooney, and Sam-O. I get along with pretty much everyone, but I hang out with them the most. DFB: What’s one thing you can’t live without? Besides my family and dirtbikes, my iPod for sure. DFB: What’s your favorite food? Either Tomato Soup or Snow Crab. DFB: Ok, so is there anyone you'd like to thank for getting you where you are now? I'd like to thank God, my Mom and Dad, Mr. Bobby Williams at ProAction Suspension, Bill Harmon of BMXP, Naturecoast Motorsports, the guys at Vortex, R & B Cycles, Bill Barry, DeCal Works, and everyone who supports me! DFB: Thank you, for your time and I wish you the best of luck this coming year!! Thank you! |
